Your Chance Program
Our social impact programs have always existed to support the disadvantaged. We are excited to announce that we have launched an extension to our Social Impact program focused on those disadvantaged who have a medically diagnosed disability, injury, or health condition.Â
We work closely with local disability employment services to find suitable candidates for the program and then work with them to help provide positive outcomes for people who often struggle to find suitable long-term employment opportunities and like our Second Chance Program participants break free from the cycle of welfare dependance & poverty.  Â
How it works
It’s called the “Your Chance program” and offers 12 months (or more) of employment, beginning as a part-time position and then growing at the participant’s pace.
Like our Second Chance Program, it is a value-based training program that includes regular sessions with our program coordinators, primarily focused on the participant becoming ‘job ready’. Our aim is that they graduate from the program into a full-time job placement of their choice with Joii or a host employer.
Program Success
The Department of Social Services (DSS) recently partnered with White Box Enterprises along with Joii and 15 other social enterprises to measure the effectiveness of social enterprises in creating meaningful employment for people who face complex barriers to finding work.
The first Payment By Outcomes Trial report uncovered some valuable insights. It reports that jobs-focused social enterprises like Joii continue to play a more prominent role in Australia’s national employment services system and outperforms the traditional employment services model particularly for the long-term unemployed, released prisoners and other similarly disadvantaged in creating opportunities which deliver long-term change.
