Due to a long, strong and ongoing pipeline of work we are ungently seeking enthusiastic and motivated applicants for the positions of qualified Tiler within our Queensland (around Brisbane) Tiling team who will be required to work on a wide range of residential projects.

Essential skills needed:

•  Qualification or 3+ years’ experience in tiling
• Expertise knowledge of current tiling requirements;
• Be able to read and interpret technical drawings and plans;
• Hold all industry required tickets and tools;
• Construction OHS card (white card) (we will help you obtain this);
• Supply & maintain own commercial grade tools, noting a tool maintenance allowance is included in the salary package)
• Provide own vehicle to get themselves and their tools to site.
• Maintain current driver’s license;

Additional Information:

Must have AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3) as a Wall and Floor Tiler.

The role includes:

Laying ceramic, clay, slate, marble and glass tiles on external and internal walls and floors to provide protective and decorative finishes.

Tasks Include:

• examining plans, measuring and marking surfaces and laying out work.
• preparing wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout and adhesive, filling holes and cracks, and cleaning surfaces.
• spreading adhesive onto prepared surfaces and tiles and setting tiles in position.
• using tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges and corners, and around objects such as fittings and pipes.
• ensuring tiles are correctly aligned and spaced.
• grouting tiles, and cleaning and removing excess grout.
• applying waterproofing systems.
• may lay floors of granolithic, terrazzo, cement or similar composition.
• may lay coloured tiles in patterns to create mosaics.
